Their Story

Pascal Corminboeuf was a Swiss politician who entered public life in his native Domdidier after initially studying letters to teach. Elected to the Fribourg State Council in November 1996 without party affiliation, he served three terms leading the Department of Interior, Agriculture and Forests, winning two reelections. Known affectionately as the "wise farmer," he was uniquely successful in earning first-round reelection in 2006, finishing third among well-known centrist ministers before retiring at the end of 2011. Though trained as an intellectual, he became an agricultural farmer, embodying a humanistic vision in politics. Following his government service, he continued his commitment to social causes, supporting healthy food initiatives and asylum seekers through "Osons l'accueil," and notably mobilizing to support Ukrainian refugees after Russia's 2022 invasion.</bio> <parameter name="photoMatchIndex">-1
