Their Story
Juan Carlos Lomeña Villalobos was a prominent Spanish politician and longtime public servant in Andalusia who dedicated much of his career to service in his native Málaga province. Born in Coín in 1953, he began his political work in the late 1980s as a municipal councilor for the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, while simultaneously serving as an official in the Provincial Deputation of Málaga. His career reached its peak in the early 1990s when he represented Málaga in the national Congress of Deputies from 1991 to 1993, before returning to municipal politics as mayor of his hometown, Coín, from 1993 to 1995. Throughout the late 1990s and 2000s, Lomeña continued to influence regional politics, serving as spokesman for the Socialist Group in the Provincial Deputation and later as Provincial Delegate of Employment for the Junta de Andalucía in Málaga from 2004 to 2010. A historic figure in the Socialist movement in Málaga, he earned respect for his commitment to public service and local governance.
