Guesch Patti, born Patricia Porrasse in 1946, was a multifaceted French artist whose career spanned music, dance, theatre, and cinema. Raised in an artistic family and tutored by renowned choreographers including Roland Petit and Pina Bausch, she began her professional journey as a classical ballet dancer at the Paris Opera at age nine. After extensive work in contemporary dance, she transitioned to music in the 1980s and achieved international fame in 1987 with her provocative hit "Étienne," which sold over 1.5 million copies and earned her the Victoire de la Musique for Female Revelation of the Year. Though this single became iconic and overshadowed the rest of her body of work, Patti remained a dedicated artist who continued to create across multiple disciplines throughout her life. She appeared in films, performed in theatre productions, and maintained her passion for contemporary dance, ultimately leaving behind the memory of a remarkably versatile performer who defied categorization.
