Their Story
Francisco David Lucas Parrón was a dedicated Spanish politician of the Socialist Party who built a career in public service at both municipal and national levels. Born in Madrid in 1968, he held a doctorate in public law from Carlos III University and spent decades advancing policies on urban development, housing, and transport. His extensive municipal experience included roles as councilor in Getafe, Madrid, and Móstoles, where he ultimately served as mayor from 2015 to 2018, helping to restore the city's socialist government. He represented Madrid in the Spanish Senate from 2016 to 2019, and later rose to prominence within the national government, serving as secretary general for housing and urban agenda beginning in 2020. From 2023 onward, he held senior positions in Spain's housing and transport ministries. Widely respected for his commitment to public service, Lucas brought intellectual rigor and municipal expertise to national policy-making, particularly in housing policy and urban planning. He passed away in July 2026 at age 58, following a brief illness.
