Their Story

David Owori was a talented and beloved Ugandan midfielder and versatile defender who represented SC Villa in the Uganda Premier League and played for the Uganda national team. Born in Tororo, he built a professional career spanning multiple clubs, including stints with Vipers SC, Spanish club Vélez CF, and Swedish side Utsiktens BK, before establishing himself as one of the most valuable players at SC Villa upon his return in 2023. Known by his peers as "Colgate," Owori was recognized as one of the league's most indispensable performers—a versatile tactician capable of operating as a right-back or central midfielder, with a tactical intelligence that made him essential to SC Villa's system. He was a leader on and off the pitch, serving as club captain and earning the respect of teammates, fans, and the broader Ugandan football community for his dedication, skill, and professionalism. His tragic death on August 5, 2026, following an attack near his home in Makindye, shocked the nation and left a profound void in Ugandan football.
