Their Story

Alambadi Azmi was a prominent figure in Uttar Pradesh politics and a dedicated representative of the Nizamabad constituency for three decades. Born in Vindaval in Azamgarh district, he pursued studies in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and built a career as an engineer before entering public service. As a member of the Samajwadi Party, he represented Nizamabad in the state assembly across five separate terms, serving in the 13th, 14th, 16th, 17th, and 18th legislative assemblies. His most recent electoral victory came in 2022, when he defeated his BJP opponent by a decisive margin of over 34,000 votes, reaffirming his strong connection with his constituents. Known for his long-standing commitment to grassroots politics, Alambadi remained a respected and enduring voice in Azamgarh's political landscape. He is survived by his wife Kudasia Khan and their six sons. He passed away in Lucknow at the age of 90.
