Their Story

Saïd Haddou was a dedicated professional cyclist who represented France throughout a career marked by both hard work and tactical intelligence. Beginning his journey in amateur cycling with clubs including CSM Clamart and CM Aubervilliers 93, he turned professional in 2005 with Auber 93. His career reached new heights in 2007 when he joined Bouygues Telecom, where he remained for six seasons alongside teammates including Thomas Voeckler, Pierre Rolland, and Jérôme Pineau. Primarily valued as a domestique—a support rider who works for team leaders—Haddou nonetheless achieved meaningful victories, most notably winning the prestigious Tro-Bro Léon race twice, in 2007 and 2009. He participated in major Grand Tours including the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France in 2009, demonstrating his capability at cycling's highest levels. After retiring from racing in 2012, Haddou remained embedded in the cycling community, serving as a team director and later as a motorcycle pilot for France Télévisions coverage of the Tour de France, where he worked with stars like Thomas Voeckler. He was remembered by his former teams for his gentleness and continued passion for the sport.
