Their Story
Cristino Centurión, affectionately known as "Kitty," was a skilled midfielder who became a celebrated figure across South American and European football. Born in Formosa, Argentina, in 1954, he began his professional career at just 15 years old with Club Atlético 1° de Mayo before moving through Argentine and Paraguayan clubs. After earning Paraguayan naturalization and representing the national team between 1985 and 1986, he gained international recognition during his time in Colombia with Deportes Tolima (1980–1982) and Deportivo Cali, where he was regarded as one of the most memorable foreign players. At Tolima, he scored 20 goals in 89 official matches and played a crucial role in the club's 1981 championship runner-up finish and their historic 1982 Copa Libertadores semifinal run. His career also included a stint in European football with R.S.C. Anderlecht. Later in his career, he returned to Paraguay and Argentina, leaving behind a legacy as a respected and beloved footballer across multiple nations and clubs.
